Programmatic accreditors review and accredit specialized and professional programs, departments, or schools in a range of fields and disciplines within the higher education institution. These academic programs offered by HSC Fort Worth are evaluated and are currently accredited by their respective programmatic accreditor:

Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine

The UNT Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine (TCOM) is fully-accredited by the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation, which is the recognized accrediting agency for the approval of colleges preparing osteopathic physicians. TCOM is also approved by the Texas Medical Board and is a member of the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine.

Master of Physician Assistant Studies

The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) has granted Accreditation-Continued status to the University听of North Texas Health Science Center Physician Assistant Program sponsored by the University of North Texas Health Science Center. Accreditation-Continued is an accreditation status granted when a currently accredited program is in compliance with the ARC-PA Standards.

Accreditation remains in effect until the program closes or withdraws from accreditation process or until accreditation is withdrawn for failure to comply with the Standards. 听The approximate date for the next validation review of the program by the ARC-PA will be September, 2024. 听The review date is contingent upon continued compliance with the Accreditation Standards and ARC-PA policy. Master of Health Administration

The UNTHSC Master of Health Administration Program has been accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME) since 2013.

CAHME is an interdisciplinary group of educational, professional, clinical and commercial organizations devoted to accountability and quality improvement of education for healthcare management and administration professionals. The purpose of the CAHME accreditation process is to ensure that universities with health management programs properly prepare future leaders for successful careers in health management and health administration.

UNTHSC鈥檚 Master of Health Administration degree is accredited by both the College of Public Health鈥檚 accrediting agency, CEPH, and by the Program鈥檚 accrediting agency, CAHME

Initial Accreditation Statement

The baccalaureate degree in nursing and the master’s degree in Nursing at The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth are pursuing initial accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (). Applying for accreditation does not guarantee that accreditation will be granted.

Clinical Nutrition

Pre-Candidate Accreditation Statement

The University of North Texas Health Science Center has applied to the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND庐) to open an ACEND accredited Coordinated Program in Nutrition and Dietetics to prepare Registered Dietitians in Spring 2026.

Our eligibility application was accepted by ACEND and we are in the pre-candidacy process for our proposed program. The program is not accepting applications at this time but will do so upon successful completion of the candidacy for accreditation process to achieve ACEND accreditation.
