Interprofessional Education (IPE) as:
“When students from two or more professions learn about, from, and with each other to enable effective collaboration and improve health.â€
Interprofessional Practice (IPP) occurs:
“When multiple health workers from different professional backgrounds work together with patients, families, caregivers and communities to deliver the highest quality of care.â€

The Department of Interprofessional Education and Practice is responsible for creating a culture of interprofessional collaboration and overseeing the planning and coordination of interprofessional practice and education and practice curriculum, programs, courses, training, etc. for students, faculty, and practicing professionals. The department provides foundational, field/clinical and professional/continuing education.
