Shannon Belden, M.A.
Shannon has been working with students for 12 years. Her experience includes reading and writing tutoring, medical scribe recruiting and training, second language tutoring, and university library work. She aspires to help students work toward academic success by focusing on individual strengths and weaknesses, self-care, and strategic study habits. She hopes to help students build behaviors that will aid them in their lives through school and beyond. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and theatre from Texas Christian University and a Masters in linguistics from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Shannon is passionate about building relationships and supporting students as they deal with the challenges of their academic careers.

Grace Colby, M.Ed.
Grace serves as a Learning Specialist in the Center for Academic Performance and has worked in higher education since 2015. Her experience has includes conduct, first-year programs, leadership and service programs, risk management, and fraternity and sorority life. She enjoys working with students to develop plans based on their strengths and long-term goals. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Sociology from Tarleton State University and a Masters of Education Higher Education from the University of North Texas.
Grace is passionate about connecting with students to the resources they need to be successful in their professional, academic, and personal lives.

Pam Pleasant
Pam serves as a Learning Specialist in the Center for Academic Performance. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in education from Texas Wesleyan University. Pam started working in education in 1994 where she began as a teacher before moving into higher education. Her experience in higher education started as a recruiter advising on best practices for a competitive applicant to now guiding in solutions for academic success.
Pam knows the value of education and aspires to assist all students as they navigate the journey to reach their career dreams while supporting them in the challenges along the way.

Misty Mitchell, M. Ed.
Misty serves as a Learning Specialist in the Center for Academic Performance. She began her career in 2003 as a K-12 teacher. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Baylor University and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with a STEM specialization from the University of Texas at Tyler. Misty is a lifelong learner and is an education enthusiast. She is excited to continue her journey by serving students in higher learning education.
Misty is passionate about ensuring all students are provided with access to a quality education and equitable learning experiences.

Tywanna Jones, M. Ed.
Tywanna serves as a Learning Specialist in the Center for Academic Performance. Her background includes 14 years educating students at the K-12 level and 3 years working with students in career services at the college level. She has a Bachelors in Sociology from the University of Texas at Austin and a Masters in Higher Education Administration from Tarleton State University.
Tywanna is an advocate for the continual growth and development of all students. She believes skills and education are the gateway to opportunity and advancement. She seeks to provide students access to resources that ultimately help them attain their goals and achieve success.

Brittney Bell, M.Ed.
Brittney serves as the Tutoring Services Associate for the Center for Academic Performance and has worked in higher education for the last three years. Her experience includes working with retention programs, peer-mentoring programs, and student development initiatives. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Sciences and a Masters of Higher Education Administration from the University of North Texas.
Brittney is passionate about building relationships and connecting with students. She feels that empowering students to reach their goals, ultimately sets them up for success.

Natalie Thomas, M.Ed.
Natalie serves as the Writing Coordinator for the Center for Academic Performance, and has worked with students of all ages for almost 20 years. She received her Bachelor of Arts in English, and Masters in Education in Reading and Writing Concentration from Texas Wesleyan University. Her experiences range from teaching at the secondary level to academically advising students in the TRIO Upward Bound Programs. Her studies have centered around inspiring the reluctant reader and writer, learning the science behind reading and writing, and incorporating literacy into the STEM fields.
Natalie has a passion for literacy, and strives to build confidence in every student who might doubt his or her writing ability.
